Software Developer / Software Engineer
Location: Aurora, CO or Fairfax/Linthicum, VA
Clearance Required: Active Top Secret (SCI eligibility required; CI Poly obtainable)
Overview
We are seeking Software Developers and Senior-Level Software Engineers to support a high-impact Defense contract. These roles involve designing, developing, and integrating software solutions in a secure environment, working across front-end, back-end, and full-stack systems. Ideal candidates have strong Java experience and a background in hardware/software integration.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot Java-based applications
Work in Agile development teams across the full software lifecycle
Build and integrate software with hardware systems and distributed services
Support system integration, testing, deployment, and automation efforts
Collaborate using modern DevOps and version control tools
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a science/technical field or equivalent experience
Experience level varies by role (Mid, Senior, Principal, Sr. Principal, Staff)
Strong experience in Java and object-oriented design
Experience as a front-end, back-end, or full-stack developer
Experience working in Agile environments
Proficiency with version control systems
Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI and CI Poly
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
Additional languages: C++, C, Python, JavaScript
Microservices and distributed systems experience
Hardware/Software integration or satellite/ground system exposure
Linux (Red Hat), virtualized environments, and AWS
Docker & Kubernetes (containerization)
DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering background
Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
Experience leading teams (for senior-level roles)
