Job Description

Embark on a transformative journey as a Senior Full Stack Java Developer. At Brokerage Firm, our vision is clear - to redefine the future of banking and help craft innovative solutions. In this role, you'll work on front-office trading platforms used globally by repo traders and sales teams, contributing to systems that support trade execution, capture, and position management across US, EU, and APAC markets. You'll collaborate closely with technology and business partners to enhance core trading capabilities, support platform evolution, and help ensure reliability in a fast-moving trading environment.

To be successful as a Senior Full Stack Java Developer, you should have experience with:

  • Java (8+) and Spring Framework for building microservices and RESTful APIs
  • Frontend development using Angular or AngularJS, along with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Database development with relational databases, including SQL query optimization and stored procedures
  • Modern development tooling and testing frameworks such as Git, Node.js, Webpack, and unit/end-to-end testing tools
  • Working in Agile environments with CI/CD pipelines, Unix/Linux systems, and containerized deployments using Docker
Some Other Highly Valued Skills May Include
  • Familiarity with Generative AI integration, including prompt engineering, or AI-powered features
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies: OpenShift/Kubernetes and AWSr
  • Skill in Test Driven Development, Continuous Delivery and System integration
  • Knowledge on Kafka, Caching, Jenkins/TeamCity

This role is located Whippany, NJ and exceptional candidates can be considered for NYC too. Onsite 2 days a week mandatory.

Purpose of the role To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities
  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
