The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic without more than normal supervision performing duties such as: 1) Interpret instructions, specifications and blueprints to repair air conditioning and refrigeration systems; 2) Trace and locate defects with HVAC, analog, direct digital control (DDC), and refrigeration systems to determine the type and extent of repair needed; 3) Install a variety of large complex commercial and industrial air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

Help
- You will overhaul heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and components in structures that have special requirements and sensitive equipment.
- You will use principles and theories of air conditioning and refrigeration (e.g., refrigeration cycle, heat transfer laws, refrigerant tables) to maintain heating and cooling systems.
- You will test refrigerant controls, thermostats, thermostatic and automatic expansion valves, float valves, and capillary tubes for leaks using testing methods and equipment.
