SUMMARY:

The UXO Supervisor oversees the on-site demilitarization of MEC and unexploded ordnance, and handling of demolition materials.

All UXO personnel must be HAZWOPER-qualified in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120/1926.65. This includes:
  • 40-hour initial HAZWOPER training
  • Current annual 8-hour HAZWOPER Refresher
  • Current annual HAZWOPER medical clearance

Mobilization costs will be provided for the duration of the field activities. Travel expenses for mobilization/demobilization include mileage/airfare from your home of record to the project site and back to your home of record upon completion of the assignment. A budget of up 8 hours each way is been allocated for travel time. Meal and lodging per diem rates are $223 per day ($200 on the first day of travel and $69 on the last day of travel).

A UXO resume, copies of valid applicable certifications, and a current medical clearance should be included with your application.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise all explosives operations.
  • Supervise multiple teams.
  • Assist in development of munitions response plans.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Directly supervises employees within the department(s).
  • Indirectly supervises employees within the department(s).
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Certificates, licenses and registrations required: 40 Hour HAZWOPER, Current 8 Hour annual HAZWOPER Refresher
  • Must have a minimum of 15 years of EOD/UXO experience with 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Prior military EOD or graduate of approved UXO training course of instruction; Senior Level or Master Level Badge preferred.
  • Must be able to perform all functions of UXOSO, UXO Technician I, II, and III.
  • Must be capable of moving through rough terrain for extended periods of time.
  • Basis user level of Microsoft Office Software, databases and documentation control systems.
  • Must have current OSHA physical
