Job Description

The Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the specialized ground support equipment essential to aircraft operations. This role ensures the reliability, readiness, and safety of all support systems used to service, launch, recover, and maintain aircraft. AGE Technicians play a critical part in mission success by keeping ground systems operational and aligned with stringent aviation standards, procedures, and safety protocols. Additionally, the AGE Technicians help reduce aircraft downtime and sustain operational tempo. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on aerospace ground support equipment to ensure full operational capability and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of group support systems including power carts, air conditioning carts, generators, tow vehicles, and lighting units in support of aircraft launch, recovery, and maintenance activities.
  • Test components, systems, and equipment to verify serviceability and diagnose malfunctions. Utilized technical manuals, schematics, diagnostic tools to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain ground support equipment. Provide training regarding safe operation and use to other technicians.
  • Follow established safety protocols, quality assurance standards, and aviation maintenance procedures to ensure equipment reliability, workplace safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • As required, ensure that all replacement parts are inspected and adequate for use prior to installation.
  • Accurately record all maintenance, inspection, and repair activities in required maintenance tracking systems and documentation logs in accordance with Company procedures, client procedures, technical orders, and regulatory requirements.
  • Clean, lubricate, paint, and apply corrosion control measures to extend the service life of ground equipment and maintain operational readiness.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and in compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Maintain serviceability of assigned support vehicles and tools.
  • Maintain require licenses, certifications, and qualifications. Participate in ongoing technical and safety training programs to sustain proficiency and compliance with operational standards.
  • Identify and report equipment performance issues, safety hazards, or process inefficiencies to the Production Supervisor or Maintenance Manager. Contribute to improvements in maintenance practices, reliability programs, and operational procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven track record of success working on complex assignments or projects requiring considerable judgment, initiative and technical/specialized knowledge.
  • Able to work well in a team and within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrate a strong foundation in mechanics, electronics, or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing a wide range of equipment, including hydraulic systems, generators, air conditioners, and bomb lifts.
  • Must possess a working knowledge AGE and components for the F-16 aircraft.
  • Must be able to perform ground handling, maintenance, and servicing.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while fostering a positive attitude.
  • Must have strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must demonstrate safe and healthy workplace practices.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to travel within the US and internationally.
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities of an AGE Technician in daily work performance.
  • Must be able to work in various weather environments and conditions.
  • Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and not be barred from any installation.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of the AGE technical training course
  • A minimum of 2-3 years direct GSE mechanic experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK CONDITIONS
  • This position is located in an overseas location area where the Technician will perform.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to operate effectively and self-sufficiently in a foreign environment, including communication, local navigation, and personal sustainability.
  • This position may require working in environments where combat-related personal protective equipment is issued and must be worn, such as ballistic vests, helmets, or other protective gear. The Technician must be able to properly don, wear, and operate effectively while using such equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Work conditions may require quick movement or repositioning in response to safety, operational, or environmental needs.
  • Duties may involve standing, walking, bending, climbing, or working in confined or elevated areas for extended periods.
  • The essential duties and responsibilities are performed in a dynamic, high-tempo environment, while earing required protective equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.

SPECIAL WORK CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret and appropriate host nation clearance(s). Ongoing eligibility is subject to periodic review. Strict adherence to all security protocols, procedures, and training is required.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. passport with no travel restrictions, limitations, or disqualifications, with a validity extending a minimum 6 months beyond the projected assignment completion date.
  • Must be able to secure all required work authorizations, including a valid work visa for the host country. Any prior immigration violations, criminal offenses, or adverse travel history that may prevent entry will not be considered.
  • Adherence to the legal, regulatory, safety, and operational requirements of the host nation is mandatory throughout the duration of assignment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, talk, walk, hear, see, and reach with hands and arms.
  • This position requires close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • This role is performed in hazardous duty locations, around loud noises and hazardous chemicals with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock. The Technician II must be able to work in environments with exposure to noise, chemicals, dust, and varying weather conditions.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

Any offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of all pre-employment requirements, which may include background checks, employment verification, security clearance, reference checks, and other conditions determined by the company.

This position is contingent upon contract award. An offer of employment may be extended prior to award; however, employment will be contingent upon the Company's award and subsequent contract funding.
