Job Description

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the leadership, planning, oversight, and execution of all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities on F-16 aircraft to ensure airworthiness, compliance, safety, and operational readiness. This role oversees maintenance personnel, manages workflow, ensures compliance with military and regulatory requirements, and partners closely with Quality Assurance, Supply, Flight Operations, and Program Management to support mission success. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise client and Company personnel, including Crew Chiefs, Specialists, and other support staff to ensure high performance, safety, and adherence to standards.
    • Ensure compliance with all OEM manuals and Technical Orders (TOs).
    • Enforce safety protocols and promote a proactive, positive safety culture in alignment with OSHA, aviation safety standards, and Company SMS (Safety Management System).
    • Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure audits, inspections, tool control, FOD prevention, and continuous improvement initiatives are executed and sustained.
  • Manage daily maintenance operations, establish priorities, assign workloads, and monitor progress for efficiency and mission readiness.
  • Oversee and ensure proper execution of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in accordance with work orders and technical data.
  • Validate and sign off aircraft readiness for flight; ensure proper documentation and logbook entries.
  • Manage maintenance control, ensuring accurate status reporting, and maintenance scheduling.
  • Coordinate with Production Supervisors and Maintenance Planner to optimize maintenance turn-time, aircraft availability, and mission readiness.
  • Work with Supply Chain and Logistics to ensure availability of tools, parts, support equipment, and consumables.
  • Participate in maintenance planning meetings, customer briefings, and performance reviews.
  • Maintain accurate aircraft records, maintenance actions, time compliance technical orders (TCTOs), and maintenance information system entries or client-prescribed system.
  • Provide routine reporting on aircraft status, availability metrics, maintenance trends, and corrective action plans.
  • Ensure proper tracking of flight hours, inspections, life-limited components, and airworthiness directives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Proven expertise in assigned maintenance specialty and deep familiarity with F-16 aircraft systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of F-16 systems, maintenance concepts, Technical Orders, and military aviation standards.
  • Present a strong leadership presence with an ability to motivate diverse teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities.
  • Skilled in interpreting technical documents, maintenance procedures, and blueprints.
  • Demonstrate high integrity, accountability, and commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic, high-tempo environment with shifting priorities.
  • Proficient in the English language with effective communication and mentoring skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently or part of a team.
  • Must demonstrate safe and healthy workplace practices.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to travel within the US and internationally.
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities of a Maintenance Manager in daily work performance.
  • Must be able to work in hazardous locations and various weather environments and conditions.
  • Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and not be barred from any installation.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIEINCE
  • Minimum 10 years of F-16 maintenance experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience.
  • Former USAF 7-Level or equivalent experience in an F-16 maintenance preferred.
  • Experience in working with international team members a plus

WORK CONDITIONS
  • This position requires overseas deployment where the Manager will perform.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to operate effectively and self-sufficiently in a foreign environment, including communication, local navigation, and personal sustainability.

SPECIAL WORK CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret and appropriate host nation clearance(s). Ongoing eligibility is subject to periodic review. Strict adherence to all security protocols, procedures, and training is required.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. passport with no travel restrictions, limitations, or disqualifications, with a validity extending a minimum 6 months beyond the projected assignment completion date.
  • Must be able to secure all required work authorizations, including a valid work visa for the host country. Any prior immigration violations, criminal offenses, or adverse travel history that may prevent entry will not be considered.
  • Adherence to the legal, regulatory, safety, and operational requirements of the host nation is mandatory throughout the duration of assignment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, talk, walk, hear, see, and reach with hands and arms.
  • This position requires close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • This role is performed in hazardous duty locations, around loud noises and hazardous chemicals with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock. The Aircraft Technician III must be able to work in environments with exposure to noise, chemicals, dust, and varying weather conditions.
  • This position may require working in environments where combat-related personal protective equipment is issued and must be worn, such as ballistic vests, helmets, or other protective gear. The Technician must be able to properly don, wear, and operate effectively while using such equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Work conditions may require quick movement or repositioning in response to safety, operational, or environmental needs.
  • Duties may involve standing, walking, bending, climbing, or working in confined or elevated areas for extended periods.
  • The essential duties and responsibilities are performed in a dynamic, high-tempo environment, while earing required protective equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Any offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of all pre-employment requirements, which may include background checks, employment verification, security clearance, reference checks, and other conditions determined by the company.
  • This position is contingent upon contract award. An offer of employment may be extended prior to award; however, employment will be contingent upon the Company's award and subsequent contract funding.
