Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with deep expertise in diesel generators and digital twin modeling to support advanced engineering and simulation initiatives. This role will focus on developing high-fidelity digital twins of generator systems using multiphysics modeling and CFD tools to support performance optimization, reliability, and mission-critical operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, validate, and maintain digital twin models of diesel generator systems, incorporating real-world performance data
• Utilize Simcenter STAR-CCM+ to perform 3D CFD and multiphysics simulations, including thermal, fluid, and structural analysis
• Model and analyze generator subsystems, including cooling systems, fuel systems, and associated chiller integration
• Conduct system-level simulations to evaluate performance, efficiency, and failure modes under varying operating conditions
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate modeling outputs into design, testing, and operational strategies
• Support troubleshooting and optimization efforts through simulation-driven insights
• Document modeling methodologies, assumptions, and results for technical and programmatic stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with all applicable security and program requirements
Required Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field required
• 5+ years of experience working with diesel generators and associated mechanical systems
• Demonstrated experience building or supporting digital twin models for complex mechanical systems
• Strong proficiency with Simcenter STAR-CCM+ for CFD
• Experience with thermal systems, including chillers and cooling technologies
