Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to support a company focused on secure cloud-based autonomy and artificial intelligence programs within the defense sector. This position is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days onsite at the Pentagon or Arlington, VA offices. The Senior ISSE will provide hands-on security engineering support within AWS-based DevSecOps pipelines and drive RMF and ATO execution for AI and autonomous systems entering DoD environments. This role directly enables cutting-edge AI and autonomy capabilities to securely transition into operational DoD missions.

Responsibilities for the Senior Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) include:

• Engineer and implement security controls within AWS cloud environments supporting DevSecOps pipelines
• Support RMF and ATO activities, including control implementation, documentation, and evidence collection
• Perform vulnerability assessment, remediation, and continuous monitoring using eMASS and related tools
• Work directly with software, cloud, and platform engineering teams to embed security into CI/CD workflows
• Translate DoD security requirements into technical implementations for commercial cloud and AI systems

Required Qualifications for the Senior Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) include:

• 8-10+ years of experience in information security engineering, system security engineering, or cybersecurity roles
• Hands-on AWS experience securing cloud infrastructure in production environments
• Strong experience with RMF, ATO processes, DevSecOps, cloud security controls, and vulnerability management
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
• Active or TS/SCI-eligible clearance required

Compensation for the Senior Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) include:

• Salary Range: $180,000-200,000 **depending on experience**
