Job Description

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking an analyst / software developer in Huntsville Alabama to develop analytical tools and perform real world data analysis for current and emerging spacebased sensors. This Intermediate/Advanced Software Engineer position will support Missile Defense Agency Space Sensors (MDA/SS) program office and Space Systems Command (SSC) initiatives to include Discriminating Space Sensor (DSS), Event Based Sensor (EBS), OPIR Modeling and Analysis Center (OMAC), and other Space Surveillance Fire Control Programs.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Create models, analytical tools, and simulation framework for reducing / analyzing data
  • Generate composite synthetic scenes of envisioned sensor systems to reflect orbital parameters, acquisition geometries, sensor characteristics, backgrounds, and target features
  • Analyze end-to-end signal processing chain elements, to include performance assessments of sensitivity, detection, and quality of track service in various clutter environments
  • Perform analysis of prototype and operational sensor data / algorithms for assessment of missile defense operational suitability


Requirements:
  • Current Secret security clearance required, with eligibility for TS-SCI
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (Master's degree desired)
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Current knowledge of software development methodology and tools
  • Ability to depict technical approaches, designs, block diagrams, algorithms, and implementations in written and graphical form


Desired:
  • Proficiency with MATLAB
  • Familiarity with passive and optical data collections and analysis
  • Understanding of signal / image processing techniques EO/IR
  • Recent hands-on experience with a software development team
