Physical Requirements: The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, or recurring and considerable walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing such as performing regular and periodic construction activities, field inspections, or to observe and study work operations in an industrial, storage, or comparable work area. Work may also include frequent lifting of moderately heavy items weighing up to and including 50 pounds (i.e., 23 kilograms), such as equipment and samples. The incumbent must have the ability to use ladders and stairwells in a shipboard environment. The position requires being able to travel occasionally and overnight by commercial air/government conveyance such as government/commercial aircraft, motor vehicles, submarines, and ships. The duties may require the individual to embark and to stay overnight on Navy and commercial vessels, including range craft. Physical Required: Yes
Hazardous Duty: Incumbent will work in and around areas containing HAZMAT/HAZWASTE. The position requires work in environments where industrial operations take place, such as crane operations (both onboard ship and in buildings), forklift operations, working near high pressure air and hydraulic systems, exposure to high noise level areas such as ship engine rooms and equipment spaces, battery charging operations, and embarking sea going vessels that will be exposed to inclement weather and sea states.
Other: The incumbent is expected to reside on Vancouver Island, BC, with the Nanoose Bay Range Complex/CFMETR being their primary duty location. They may be required to serve in TDY assignments in locations such as Washington D.C. and NUWC Keyport. The incumbent must maintain the ability to travel to foreign countries. Due to the nature of underwater test vehicles supported, the incumbent will be required to qualify as an ordnance supervisor per Navy and NUWC Division, Keyport regulations.

- You will serve as the communication conduit between NUWC Keyport and CFMETR leadership, range engineers, and environment managers.
- You will develop and manage workforce shaping strategies considering existing and future work profiles, customers, and requirements ensuring sufficient technical skills and capacity for internally and externally assigned work.
- You will perform Resource Manager functions including, but not limited to the development, approval, and revision of procedures, processes; facility/infrastructure maintenance; facility planning/improvements, etc.
- You will function as the US on-site representative in execution of the US-Canadian International Agreement for the joint management and operation of the Nanoose Range.
