Job Description

Embedded Software Engineer needed for a contract opportunity with SOC's client to work onsite in Columbia, MD.

Candidates must have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance to be considered for this role.

Our Client is seeking a highly skilled Embedded Developer / Advanced Security Operations Software Engineer to support mission-critical national security initiatives. This role involves designing and developing advanced security solutions in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. You will work closely with analysts, operators, data scientists, and engineers to deliver innovative capabilities that support complex operational requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Augment and enhance existing security analysis toolsets to support evolving mission needs
  • Derive, document, and analyze requirements for advanced security operations capabilities
  • Design, develop, and prototype software solutions to validate mission requirements
  • Build and deploy end-to-end toolsets that operate within constrained and secure environments
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with analysts, operators, and engineering teams to deliver tactical solutions
  • Maintain strong relationships with customer leadership to ensure alignment and mission success
  • Support ongoing development, integration, and optimization of advanced security operations systems

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 12+ years of experience, or 10+ years without a degree
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required
  • Expert-level experience developing advanced security operations software across Linux, Windows, and embedded systems
  • Strong proficiency in C, C++, Python, Rust, and Go
  • Demonstrated experience with reverse engineering tools, including Ghidra
  • In-depth knowledge of vulnerability research and exploit development
  • Experience with end-to-end signals intelligence (SIGINT) collection and analysis systems
  • Familiarity with version control tools such as Git and Subversion
  • Experience using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with additional languages such as Java, JavaScript, Bash, Assembly (x86/x64), PowerShell, Perl, or C#
  • Background in cryptologic development
  • Experience supporting production-level advanced security operations capabilities
