Job Description
TITLE: Senior Mechanical Engineer with ACTIVE Secret clearance
RATE RANGE: $70/hr - $89/hr W2 **Depends on experience and benefits chosen**
CLEARANCE: Must have an active Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship REQUIRED)
LOCATION: Tucson, AZ 85701 (no relocation package)
DURATION: 12+ month contract
SCHEDULE: 9/80 (every other Friday off)

DESCRIPTION:
This Mechanical Engineering position performs in alignment to expectations in the design, development, and production support areas associated with mechanical designs, validation principles, qualification processes, procurement, and production processes across a design life cycle. Development work may include requirements understanding, concept development, DFMAs, PFMAs, margin analysis, technical data package (TDP) development, application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principals, engineering test principals, preparation of technical analysis reports, and presenting data in design reviews.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience. An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
Five years of work experience in mechanical design and design documentation.
Mechanical aptitude to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Advanced degree in an Engineering discipline
Leadership experience with small teams (4-6 people)
Supplier interaction and supplier management experience
Ability to work in teams or independently, flexible, demonstrates initiative
Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal, structural analysis, energetics principals, control systems, interconnect, airframe, or large assembly development
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written
Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5
Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software
Experience with PTC Windchill Product Data Management or equivalent configuration/data management software
Ability to travel to government and supplier facilities in support of program activities
Active DoD issued security clearance
