THE WORK
Lockheed Martin RMS is seeking a Systems Engineer responsible for advancing the development of digital twin architectures for the U.S Navy's strategic navigation submarine programs. In this role you will collaborate with cross functional teams to create a scalable virtual replica that supports Agile development, early/advanced integration and testing, design validation, predictive maintenance, troubleshooting using lab and field data, performance optimization, and lifecycle management. You will define the overall digital twin architecture, including data ingestion pipelines, simulation models and engines, analytics layers, and visualization frameworks and then validate the functionality against lab and field data. You will produce detailed design documents and be expected to conduct training sessions and workshops for internal and external stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline such as Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics
- Applicable technical experience on digital twin or model based systems engineering (MBSE) projects.
- Proficiency with simulation tools (e.g. Simulink) and scripting languages (Python, MATLAB, C++/C)
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively on an Agile team with both local and geographically distributed teammates including subcontractors, technical agents and customers
- Excellent demonstrated interpersonal and time management skillsets
- Must be a US citizen; this position will require a government security clearance
Desired Skills:
- Advanced degree from an accredited college in a related discipline such as Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics
- Experience with MBSE tools
- Knowledge of Python, Pytorch, ONNX, and general AI/ML tools and libraries
- Familiarity with coding in C and C++
- Proficient working within both Windows and Unix/Linux environment
- Basic understanding of time-domain (Kalman, Least-Squares, etc) and frequency-domain filtering (Low-Pass, High-Pass, Band-Pass, Notch, etc)
- Familiarity with Position, Navigation, and Timing with and without GPS
- Familiarity with Inertial Navigation algorithms
- Familiarity with Estimation and Guidance algorithms
- Familiarity with active SONAR systems (Correlation Velocity Log, Doppler Velocity Log, etc) and underwater platforms

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
