Are You a Senior Software Engineer Ready to Build Secure, Cloud-Native API Platforms?
QSSHire is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Software Engineer to support a high-visibility effort focused on developing a bi-directional cloud API gateway. This platform enables secure data exchange across multiple systems within a controlled environment.
This role requires a highly experienced engineer who can operate at the SME level, working closely with technical leadership to design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems and cloud-native services.

In This Role, You’ll:
• Design, build, and maintain cloud-based software systems using AWS services
• Develop and manage RESTful APIs supporting secure, high-throughput data exchange
• Build and maintain backend systems using modern programming languages
• Support development of a bi-directional API gateway architecture
• Leverage AWS Lambda for serverless compute solutions
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as:
o AWS CloudFormation
o Terraform
o AWS CDK
• Apply functional programming principles where appropriate
• Collaborate with technical leads and stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure solutions
• Contribute to system design, performance optimization, and integration efforts

You’ll Succeed Here If You Have:
• Strong experience building and maintaining AWS-based software systems
• Proven experience designing and developing REST APIs
• Extensive backend development experience in one or more of the following:
o TypeScript
o JavaScript
o Java
o Ruby
o Python
o Go
o (Other modern backend languages acceptable)
• Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions (CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK)
• Strong understanding and practical application of functional programming concepts
• Ability to operate as a technical SME, supporting architecture decisions and mentoring others
