Duties
Help
  • You will perform curriculum development functions; provide curriculum revision services; and develop Navy Training Systems Plans (NTSPs).
  • You will oversee testing and remediation programs and provide in-service training sessions.
  • You will conduct training analysis reviews, course safety reviews, and conduct formal course reviews.
  • You will develop and modify lesson plans and course materials, such as, study guides, visual aids, simulations, written tests, proficiency charts, following a prescribed course framework.
  • You will research training source material such as government regulations, national building codes, technical manuals to ensure the currency, adequacy, and accuracy of established instructional courses.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

1. Researching training source material such as government regulations, technical manuals, wiring and schematic diagrams, commercial publications, and other information to ensure the currency, adequacy, and accuracy of current courses of instruction, and training items;
2. Reviewing and updating Training Requirements databases and oversee testing and remediation programs;
3. Conducting training analysis reviews, course safety reviews, and formal course reviews;
4. Providing internal feedback of surveys, preparing and forward questionnaires requesting feedback;
5. Developing and updating lesson plans for a broad suite of fundamental skills, or technical occupation courses equivalent to basic undergraduate or secondary grade levels;
6. Participating in task analysis to determine training requirements of training and testing materials;
7. Developing and updating course materials such as study guides, visual aids, written tests, proficiency charts, training aids, and course outlines, following a prescribed course framework covering various occupations' fundamental skills;
8. Providing training and mentorship to subordinate training specialists to develop and enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform as training specialists; and
9. Utilizing common office equipment such as desktop computers, printers, copiers, telephones.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

A Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
A LL.M. with a major study in Education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.
