Job Description:
Seeking a skilled and motivated Test Architectural and Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Pleasanton, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test engineering, and a passion for design and architecture for test solutions in discrete features and/or subsystems. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to architect, design, build, and implement test solutions for various applications and product lifecycles.
Position Responsibilities:
• Design and implement end-to-end test solutions for assigned components/programs
• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks, libraries, and fixtures
• Collaborate with product/feature teams to translate requirements into test architecture
• Integrate hardware/software test environments and manage dependencies
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and traceability artifacts
• Build test fixtures and test equipment to support development and production programs
• Execute and analyze test results; report and track defects
• Ensure test code quality, maintainability, and reusability
• Lead technical reviews in a cross functional engineering team
• Perform test requirements verification and validation
• Lead qualification testing for new products
• Perform ATP and ESS testing for new products and sustainment programs
• Routinely perform maintenance on test equipment to ensure production program longevity
• Upgrade testing equipment as needed to stay current with emerging or outdating technologies
• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform root cause analysis for test equipment failure
• Train lab techs and other test engineers on test equipment operations and maintenance
• Lead high-impact programs for test platform, infrastructure, and toolchain modernization
• Drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, manufacturing, and validation teams
• Introduce, drive, and manage best practices for test development process
Required Skills:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• 5+ years of experience in architecture and design of test solutions
• 5+ years of experience performing engineering tests
• Experience designing test equipment for new products
• Experience performing and maintaining test equipment for production programs
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing test equipment
Preferred Skills:
• 10+ years of experience in architecture and design of test solutions
• 10+ years of experience in performing engineering tests
• Experience leading test programs
• Experience mentoring engineers and lab techs
Education / Experience:
Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
