Overview
Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Practitioner (PSD):
Bowhead seeks a Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Practitioner to support the Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), Product Support Directorate (PSD) contract in Quantico, VA. This role directly supports the Marine Corps logistics acquisition workforce by enhancing maintenance strategies, improving system reliability, and enabling data-driven sustainment decisions that contribute to warfighter readiness.
The RCM Practitioner is responsible for facilitating a team of Subject Matter Experts (SME) during RCM analysis on ground weapon systems. The practitioner is also responsible for conducting RCM related training to the MCSC workforce. The position ensures alignment with Department of Defense (DoD) and Marine Corps maintenance policies while integrating industry best practices, including applicable SAE standards, to optimize lifecycle sustainment and system performance.
This position is contingent on Bowhead being awarded the contract that includes RCM support.

Responsibilities
Essential functions will include:
- Apply Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodologies by facilitating a group of SMEs to analyze system functions, identify failure modes and effects, and assist the SMEs in developing recommendations to improve maintenance strategies that improve system reliability and availability.
- Develop, review, and refine maintenance plans, task analyses, and sustainment strategies in accordance with DoD and Marine Corps maintenance policies and guidance.
- Identify Condition-Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+) gaps to enable predictive and data-driven maintenance approaches.
- Evaluate system performance data, maintenance records, and reliability metrics to identify trends, failure drivers, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Provide subject matter expertise as it relates to both RCM and CBM+.
- Ensure that RCM analyses align with applicable SAE standards related to Reliability Centered Maintenance and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with Marine Corps Systems Command personnel to identify systems that will benefit from RCM analyses.
- Develop and deliver briefings, reports, and recommendations to leadership after each analysis to discuss maintenance strategy effectiveness, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies in maintenance processes and recommending data-driven enhancements.

Qualifications
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- A minimum of five to eight (5-8) years of relevant experience in RCM.
- Thorough knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) and Marine Corps maintenance policies, procedures, and processes.
- Demonstrated experience applying Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodologies.
- Strong understanding of Condition-Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+) concepts, implementation strategies, and supporting technologies.
- Familiarity with SAE standard JA1011 and its guide, the SAE JA1012.
- Experience interpreting maintenance and performance data to identify candidate systems for RCM analysis.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Desired Experience:
- Experience supporting Marine Corps Systems Command or similar DoD acquisition organizations.
- Familiarity with maintenance data systems, readiness reporting systems, or digital tools supporting CBM+ initiatives.
- Experience integrating reliability and maintenance considerations into system design or modernization efforts.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 10-25 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
