We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Security Support Specialist to uphold a gold standard security program in accordance with National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). The role provides hands-on experience across personnel security, physical security, COMSEC, and general security operations within cleared facilities and environments.

Responsibilities

Personnel Security (PERSEC)
  • Assist with onboarding cleared employees.
  • Support clearance processing, visit requests, and access verifications.
  • Maintain personnel security records in accordance with NISPOM requirements.
  • Track and support reporting requirements (foreign travel, foreign contacts, adverse information, etc).
  • Assist with the initiation, tracking, and maintenance of security clearance actions in DISS and other government systems.
  • Coordinate and support security briefings, including initial, annual, and special accesses, debriefs.
  • Monitor reinvestigation and clearance eligibility status to ensure compliance.
Physical Security (PHYSEC)
  • Support access control procedures for cleared facilities and restricted areas.
  • Assist with visitor control processes, including escorting requirements.
  • Conduct routine security checks of closed areas.
  • Help maintain alarm systems, badge systems, and entry control procedures.
  • Participate in facility inspections and assist with corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper safeguarding, storage, and destruction of classified material.
  • Support security incident response and reporting processes as required.
Security Operations & Compliance
  • Support implementation of NISPOM and company security policies and procedures.
  • Assist with Provide support during Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) assessments.
  • Assist with self-inspections, DCSA assessments, and audit preparations.
  • Maintain security files, logs, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide day-to-day support to security team and business units.
Communications Security (COMSEC)
  • Provide backup support to the COMSEC Custodian as needed.
  • Assist with inventory and accountability of COMSEC material in accordance with policy.
  • Support secure storage, handling, and transfer of COMSEC equipment and keying material.
  • Participate in inventories, destruction, and audits.
  • Maintain COMSEC records and logs with strict attention to detail and accountability.
Administrative & Program Support
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records management.
  • Track security metrics and assist with reporting.
  • Assist in coordination of classified meetings.

Qualifications

Required
  • Active Top Secret clearance
  • Working knowledge of the NISPOM and experience supporting Closed Area operations within a contractor environment.
  • 10+ years of experience in a related field
  • Experience with SIMS, CCURE, DISS, NISS, NBIS, and eQIP systems
  • High attention to detail with a strong customer service mindset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
  • Team oriented with a willingness to take initiative
Desired
  • Completion of FSO Program Management for possessing facilities or other CDSE certifications (e.g., SFPC, ISOC).
  • Familiarity with COMSEC and classified material control procedures.
