GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Proposal Manager will serves as a key member and contributor to the sales and marketing department. Primarily responsible for the management development and compliant submittal of high quality winning DOD and DHS related proposals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for managing and coordinating the entire proposal development submittal/award life cycle.
- Analyzes the RFP on receipt, developing proposal strategies and schedules, and preparing strategy documentation.
- Collect and analyze data from diverse sources to solve problems that require a professional level of knowledge in sales.
- Creating a proposal template, outline, compliance matrices and a proposal checklist.
- Chair and lead a proposal kick-off meeting, assigning team roles and responsibilities to include assigning specialized technical and administrative writing.
- Work with Engineering to develop proposal winning conceptual designs that meet all requirements of a build to specification solicitation. Some engineering knowledge is required.
- Provides guidance and assistance as required to authors.
- Maintaining status and progress on in-process proposals.
- Manage the proposal document production, editing and formation of a 100% compliant Dod/DHS proposal effort.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position has limited supervisory responsibilities.
Experience and Skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
- Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
- Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.
- Ability to adhere to workplace rules.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 4-year college/university degree (technical field preferred), or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years related experience in sales supporting customers. Knowledge of Gichner products, processes and procedures.
- 5+ years of knowledge of manufacturing and DOD contracting and procurement processes
- Engineering Design Cycle experience and experience working on build to specification type job.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Office environment.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools).
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to tolerate constant noise (machine motors - large fans).
- Ability to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and hazardous conditions.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or sit for long periods of time.
- The employee frequently is required to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance.
- The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and speak or listen.
