Work You'll Do
Strategic Engagement Action Officer
o Support USINDOPACOM Leadership and Combatant Command Staff by coordinating logistics and products for strategic engagements with State of Hawaii stakeholders.
o Create and track tasks using the Task Management System (TMS).
o Draft engagement papers, information papers, talking points, and executive summaries.
o Manage calendar invites, provide meeting support, and coordinate across organizations.
o Develop agendas, prepare background materials, and produce meeting summaries.
o Collaborate with INDOPACOM Public Affairs, Protocol, NCIS, and other entities to manage engagement details.
o Support and coordinate recent high-profile events such as Memorial Day Ceremonies, Vietnam War Veterans Day, and the Hawaii Military Affairs Council Bi-Annual State of the Indo-Pacific.
Community Relations Action Officer
o Plan, manage, and support community outreach across USINDOPACOM components and with the State of Hawaii.
o Synchronize service component engagements and outreach through the Hawaii Strategic Engagement and Government Affairs (SEGA) Sync monthly meetings.
o Develop and maintain a monthly engagement calendar (45-day Outlook Calendar).
o Create outreach vignettes to highlight positive military engagement in Hawaii.
o Maintain updated resources for component and installation commanders, public affairs, and community relations contacts (Hawaii Installation PAO Roster).
o Assist with land lease program initiatives within the DoD.
o Support strategic planning, reporting, and messaging to improve program execution efficiency.
o Contribute to understanding historical challenges related to land retention, considering cultural and natural resource perspectives.
o Support outreach efforts with Native Hawaiian organizations, state and local government, academic institutions, and community groups.
o Attend and assess community events; represent USINDOPACOM at monthly meetings such as the Hawaii Military Affairs Council, Military Youth Advisory Council, and Joint Venture Education Forum.
Government Affairs Liaison
o Coordinate communications, requests, and engagements with the State of Hawaii Governor and the Mayor of Honolulu.
o Serve as the primary contact for matters related to the Hawaii State Legislature.
o Organize the annual Hawaii State Legislature Visit to USINDOPACOM, including leadership briefs and coordination with service components and the Hawaii National Guard.
o Track legislative bills and resolutions, produce the Hawaii State Legislature Bills of Interest Report, and conduct weekly legislative syncs.
o Educate components on legislative procedures and resources via the SEGA Government Affairs Report.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. Work You'll Do

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Political Science, Public Administration or related field
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
- 5 + years experience in public relations, community outreach, government affairs, or strategic communications
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multi-stakeholder engagements and managing complex projects
- Active Secret security clearance required
- Ability to work onsite 100% of the time in Honolulu, HI.
