SAP BASIS (Cloud) Database Specialist

Work You'll Do

As a US Delivery Center Manager on the team, you will:

• Own end-to-end delivery for cloud-based Basis administration, operational stability, performance optimization, and cost efficiency.
• Administer SAP in the cloud, including system copies and refresh automation, kernel and support pack coordination, parameter tuning support, and performance troubleshooting across both application and infrastructure layers
• Lead cloud infrastructure alignment for SAP by coordinating sizing validation, storage performance, backup and snapshot patterns, and network and security configurations with infrastructure and security teams
• Implement and continuously improve monitoring, alerting, and operational dashboards across SAP and cloud services, increasing signal quality and enabling faster issue detection and response
• Drive standardized, repeatable environment builds by partnering with cloud engineering teams on templates, automation, and infrastructure-as-code patterns that improve compliance and reduce manual effort.
• Coordinate disaster recovery readiness for cloud-hosted SAP, including backup verification, restore testing support, documentation of recovery procedures, and alignment to defined RTO/RPO expectations.
• Lead incident bridges for major SAP cloud outages, coordinate response across application, infrastructure, and security teams, and drive root-cause remediation to prevent repeat issues.
• Help strengthen the overall SAP cloud operating model by improving automation, governance, recovery readiness, and service reliability across the landscape.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
• 6+ years of experience with SAP Basis administration, including implementation and/or sustainment
• 4+ years of experience administering SAP in cloud environments, including landscape management, system copies, refreshes, and transport coordination
• 4+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure for SAP, including sizing validation, storage performance, backup/snapshot patterns, and network/security coordination
• 4+ years of experience with SAP performance tuning and troubleshooting, including application and infrastructure analysis
• 3+ years of experience implementing and tuning monitoring, alerting, and operational dashboards across SAP and cloud services
• Delivery Center Location & Travel Requirements:
• Hybrid Work Model: Operate under a hybrid system requiring residence within a commutable distance to one of the US Delivery Center locations (Gilbert, Lake Mary, or Mechanicsburg) or Geo-Hub locations (Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, Houston, and Philadelphia)
• Co-location Expectation: Spend up to 30% of working time co-located at an assigned office for orchestrated opportunities, including projects, practice sessions, training, and Moments That Matter at a Deloitte Delivery Center location, Geo-Hub location, approved site, or project location
• Travel Requirement: Maximum of 10% overnight travel for client or project purposes
• Relocation Requirement: If relocation is necessary, complete the move within 12 weeks from the start date to reside within a commutable distance
