Job Summary:
TEKsystems is seeking a Defense Red Switch Technician in support of mission-critical voice and network services by monitoring, configuring, and resolving incidents across classified and enterprise environments. You will work with voice and IP networks, including TDM and SIP-based services, using ServiceNow and platform-specific network management tools to maintain high availability. The position involves real-time incident response, customer coordination, and proactive network monitoring in a 24x7 operations environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and respond to network alarms using multiple network management platforms.
- Create, update, and resolve incident tickets in ServiceNow and related incident management tools.
- Provide timely situational awareness and outage notifications to leadership and stakeholders.
- Configure, analyze, and troubleshoot customer circuits supporting TDM and SIP trunks.
- Perform configuration maintenance on route plans, route lists, calling search spaces, partitions, and device profiles.
- Assess network incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate directly with customers, UC stakeholders, and internal/external partners to minimize mission impact.
- Verify service restoration and ensure proper documentation throughout the incident lifecycle.
- Support global customers by providing operational and situational awareness.
- Develop or recommend process improvements for UC and DRSN operations.
Required Qualifications:
- Active DoD Top Secret security clearance
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) prior to start date.
- Ability to work in a 24x7 shift environment.
- General understanding of voice infrastructure and IP network topologies.
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2–4 years of relevant experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in tech control facilities or cyber transport environments.
- Circuit provisioning or circuit action experience.
- Hands-on experience with alarm surveillance, call routing, SIP, media call flows, or packet capture analysis.
- Familiarity with Juniper IP technologies and Cisco network devices.
- Knowledge of routers, switches, crypto devices, VTC systems, and voice services.
- Experience supporting EVoIP, ECVoIP, VoSIP, DRSN, DSN Core, or fly-away communication kits.
