Contractor Special Access Program Security Officer
The Contract Special Access Program (SAP) Security Officer (CSSO) will provide comprehensive SAP security support across multiple geographically dispersed locations for the Space Systems Command (SSC). This position replaces a former government billet and will work directly under government oversight, ensuring consistent implementation of updated SAP security standards, processes, and mission support requirements.
This role provides SAP security management across Colorado Springs (COS), Peterson Space Force Base (SFB), and Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB), overseeing multiple SAP facilities, programs, contractors, and government personnel. Candidates must have prior government experience in a similar SAP security position (CSSO, CPSO, GSSO, PSO support, or equivalent).

Additional Compensation:

Contractor Special Access Program Security Officer

Candidates must have prior government experience in a similar SAP security position (CSSO, CPSO, GSSO, PSO support, or equivalent).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead SSC SYD 85 security operations across Colorado Springs. Oversee and/or Implement all SAP security requirements per DoDM 5205.07, NISPOM/A, ICD 704/705/503/503A,.including personnel security, SAPF accreditation, information assurance and industrial security guidance.
- Execute revised personnel security processes, including nomination reviews, access justifications, eligibility tracking, indoctrinations, and debriefings.
- Manage and enforce compliance with updated SAPF standards, construction/renovation requirements, TEMPEST considerations, and inspection cycles.
- Develop, maintain, deliver, and enforce security SOPs, EAPs, SETA programs, and local security directives.
- Standardize security processes across SAPFs, contractor facilities, and government program offices.
- Ensure proper control, protection, transmission, receipt, destruction, and inventory of SAP material and media under 2025 accountability rules.
- Conduct recurring self inspections, audits, and vulnerability assessments in accordance with the 2025 inspection schedule and compliance model.
- Coordinate and oversee contractor security personnel and support teams, including daily SAPF operations, visitor management, meeting support, and secure system usage.
- Provide updated risk assessments, compliance reports, and recommendations to government SAP security leadership (PSO/SSO).
- Support government-directed inquiries, incident reporting, and corrective action implementation under updated reporting guidelines.
- Validate training, indoctrination, access eligibility, need-to-know, and compliance.
- Coordinate mission requirements and security impacts with leadership, contracting partners, and program management.
- Maintain training documentation, activity logs, and annual/initial training compliance for all personnel.

- Manage access requests (VAR/VAL), document control, courier authorizations, classified system usage, and secure communication processes.
- Support OPSEC reviews, cybersecurity/IA coordination, COMSEC, and classification management.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility; SAP eligibility required, which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain.
- Must be willing to take a Counterintelligence Polygraph and submit to drug testing.
- Minimum 8-10 years experience performing SAP security roles (CSSO, CPSO, GSSO, PSO etc.) for multiple sites and/or programs.
- Working knowledge of security systems such as DISS, NISS, NBIS, SCINet, SIMS, JADE, and SCIF/SAPF design/management across multiple geographic locations.
- Experience coordinating with DIA, GSSOs, PSOs, SAPMOs, and other government security stakeholders.
- Self starter with ability to work independently or with a team.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the NISPOM, ICD 705, DoDM 5205.07, and related IC and security standards.
- Experience with SCIF/SAPF accreditation and compliance documentation (Fixed Facility Checklist, alarm test results, etc.).
- Familiarity with TEMPEST, COMSEC, and OPSEC requirements.
- Ability to oversee classified information systems under the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Strong communication and coordination skills and the ability to coordinate with senior government and contractor leadership.
Desired:
- Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or related field.
- Prior government experience serving as a GSSO, PSO, SAPMO, or other related role.
- Prior experience supporting Space Force or Air Force SAP programs is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of classified systems accreditation processes and RMF/NSS guidance.
- Highly motivated and self-driven professional with a results-oriented mindset with proven success working in high operational tempo environments
- Demonstrates leadership qualities with the ability to guide team members with ability to scale responsibilities and adapt to evolving mission requirements
- Experience briefing and interacting with executive leadership, government customers, and program managers.
- Completion of CDSE security training (e.g., FSO Program Management, SAP Mid-Level Security, SCIF/SAPF planning).
