Position Overview
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to support cloud security assessment, compliance, and continuous monitoring activities across enterprise environments spanning AWS, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. This role focuses on identifying vulnerabilities, analyzing security data, and ensuring systems meet established security standards and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in security analysis, risk assessment, and cloud security practices, with the ability to evaluate system security posture and support mitigation efforts. This position requires collaboration with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure systems remain secure, compliant, and aligned with frameworks such as NIST RMF and ICD 503.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform security assessments of cloud environments to identify vulnerabilities, gaps, and compliance issues.
• Analyze security scan results from tools such as Rapid7, Nessus, and Qualys, and conduct risk analysis on findings.
• Monitor system alerts and security events to identify potential threats and document mitigation strategies.
• Support continuous monitoring activities, ensuring systems maintain compliance with security standards.
• Review and validate security control evidence packages for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
• Assist in maintaining Assessment and Authorization (A&A) documentation and security packages.
• Track and manage Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), ensuring timely remediation of findings.
• Develop and maintain security metrics, dashboards, and compliance reports.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to identify and resolve security risks and vulnerabilities.
• Support preparation of technical reports, status updates, and briefing materials for leadership.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of security procedures and best practices.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
• Demonstrated experience performing security assessments and vulnerability analysis in cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of NIST RMF, ICD 503, FIPS-199, NIST 800-53, and CNSS 1253 frameworks.
• Experience with continuous monitoring processes and security compliance activities.
• Experience using security scanning tools such as Rapid7, Nessus, or Qualys.
• Experience managing and tracking POA&Ms and remediation activities.
• Experience utilizing compliance and governance tools such as Xacta 360, Risk Vision, or RSA Archer.
• Experience reviewing security documentation and body of evidence packages.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
Desired Skills
• Experience reviewing or developing A&A documentation in cloud environments.
• Experience identifying and implementing security controls.
• Experience working tools such as Xacta 360.
