Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Electrical System Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting Software/Hardware Integration & Test organization. The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in San Diego, CA.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join as a Electrical System Test Engineer (STE), a self-starter with familiarity working in an Integrated Product Team construct. The ideal candidate requires a strong background in all levels of system level testing as well as a Top Secret SCI clearance. The ideal candidate needs to have strong communication, collaboration, leadership, and team building skills. Successful candidates are comfortable working in a dynamic, fast paced, aerospace team environment while possessing technical proficiency in analytical thinking, problem solving skills, and ability to interface across the different engineering teams.
Please note: A start date, for candidates selected, will be determined after obtaining Special Program Access (SAP).

Primary Level Salary Range: $177,000.00 - $265,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Roles and Responsibilities will include:
- Working with System Test Engineers, Test IPT Leadership, Lab Operations Leadership, and Test Planning & Execution (TP&E) teams to successfully plan and execute scheduled test efforts.
- Utilizing the experience and testing knowledge gained in a lab setting to support full system-level testing.
- Communicating and collaboration with multiple levels of the organization including the program, leadership, teammates, and team members in other business units to meet the customer's needs..
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative team settings across all levels. A successful track record of program performance and test experience is required.
- Working with design team and lab architecture team to ensure successful integration of new hardware and software in a lab test environment and be responsible for synthesizing and translating program requirements into lab specific configurations.
- This role may include interfacing with external customer technical representatives, internal engineering associates and program management.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience.
- Technical experience in system test engineering and integration of aerospace systems.
- Experience in full program lifecycle flight hardware/software from conception through testing.
- Must have an Active DoD Top Secret SCI clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
- Previous experience with System Level Lab Test Execution, test planning and coordination of events.
- Previous experience with Hardware and Software lab operations support.
- Extensive experience developing and executing System level test procedures.
- Experience at multiple levels of System Test Engineering.
- Knowledge of native cloud computing foundation and cloud-based environments.
- Familiarity with software architecture development and testing, using modern cloud-based and open architecture and platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methods and processes.
- Cyber architecture or cyber security experience
- Experience with DoDAF and Open Mission Standards
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
- Experience with various technical analysis tools such as MATLAB and STK
- Experience with Mission Operations for aerospace systems.
