Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Supply Chain Technical Coordinator 3 or 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Aircraft Solutions Business Unit at MCAS Miramar San Diego, CA .

Role and Responsibilities:

Serve as the squadron aviation supply logistics planner, and liaison between aviation supply, intermediate level maintenance activities, and depot level maintenance teams. They perform all functions related to aviation logistics, to include customer service support, requisitioning procedures, financial management, inventory management, materiel management, facilities and storage management. In addition, Supply Chain Technical Coordinators must have thorough knowledge of all applicable naval supply documents, forms, and publications applicable to role assignment; and must be able to gain proficiency working with navy supply procedures, to include the support of deployed aviation operations in a disaggregated operations environment. Duties include validation of customer requirements, processing requisitions, submitting requisitions, initiating appropriate follow-up actions, and processing and delivering material in accordance with all governing policies, regulations, and procedures. This role also requires compliance with all Naval Aviation Maintenance Programs within the Maintenance Department. Liaison with the Operations Department to establish squadron mission goals and assure all assigned aircraft reach full mission capable statuses to support daily flight schedules.
  • Contacts product suppliers to verify shipment details and status.
  • Expedites material into inventory to ensure no delays in schedules improving efficiency in production.
  • Works successfully with diverse group of coworkers to accomplish goals and address issues related to our products and services.
  • Communicates with management to provide up to date information regarding a material that might hold up a delivery schedule.
  • Prioritized and organized task to efficiently accomplish service goals. Juggled multiple projects and task to ensure high quality and timely delivery.
  • Work closely with Program Managers, Material Planning, and Engineering to ensure everyone receives material needed as soon as possible.
  • Demonstrated self-reliance by meeting and exceeding workflow needs.
  • Pull TCTD material kits and distributes production builds to keep up with production demands and workflow.
  • Works closely with Field Support Representatives (FSR) when stock sweeps or nonperforming material is requested for additional evaluation.
  • Demonstrated leadership by continuously making improvements to work processes and helping to train peers to increase work in progress.
  • Performs inventory cycle counts as required to ensure material counts are accurate and match counts in our system.
  • Assist management to distribute workload to help employees build their skill levels on new projects.
  • Instructs and train peers and new employees in eMOR, One-Touch, NALCOMIS, and ALIS Systems.
  • Provided excellent customer service and attention to customers when face-to-face or through phone conversations to ensure the customer's needs are met or exceeded.
  • Improve operations and increases efficiency by working with team members and customers to find workable solutions and identify constraints to prevent bottlenecks in production.
  • Train new employees on our processes and procedures to ensure they understand the importance of our processes, so they are followed correctly for safety and efficiency.
  • Works closely with coworkers to assist with any issues they might have to ensure our customer is not delayed in getting material for their schedules.
  • Motivates and encourages team members to communicate more openly and constructively with each other. Work with Quality during ISO audits to ensure we are compliant.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Supply Chain Coordinator 3 : High School diploma or GED and a minimum of 4 years of aircraft maintenance material logistical support experience
  • Supply Chain Coordinator 4 : High School diploma or GED and a minimum of 6 years of aircraft maintenance material logistical support experience
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must have minimum 6 months' credible experience in direct support of aviation supply operations at the squadron level
  • Meet the requirements to obtain a state driver's license
  • A current Secret Clearance (or higher)
  • Ability to obtain Special Access Program clearance, as required
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data and blueprint drawings
  • Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working overhead
  • Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment with exposure to or handling hazardous materials
  • Ability to pass medical/respiratory evaluation in order to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirator fitting requirement
  • Must be able to pass a New Hire Physical that includes a 5-year flightline physical, audiogram, and color vision testing prior to start
  • Must have the ability to work 1st or 2nd shift and travel up to 10% to support other sites


Preferred Qualifications:
  • U. S. Navy, or U. S. Marine Corps experience with thorough understanding of F-35 Fighter Aircraft Logistic Systems and operations under COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 and 4790.35
  • Completion of Marine Aviation Supply Specialist Course (N3330B1)
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in a Military-focused workplace environment
  • Any relatable supply chain management certifications and/or Lean Six Sigma training
  • USMAP apprenticeship trades related to Aviation Supply Specialist


Primary Level Salary Range: $56,000.00 - $93,400.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $66,600.00 - $111,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
