Position Overview
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is seeking a Cyber Security Project Engineer to support and enhance cloud security operations across multi-cloud environments. This role is responsible for executing security assessment, compliance, and continuous monitoring activities while providing project-level coordination and technical leadership.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in cloud security engineering, risk management frameworks, and project execution, with the ability to collaborate across teams, analyze security risks, and ensure compliance with established security standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Support security assessment, compliance, change management, and continuous monitoring activities across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud)
• Assess cloud security technologies for vulnerabilities and gaps, and recommend mitigation strategies
• Analyze security scan results and perform risk analysis on identified findings
• Review security documentation and evidence packages for completeness and accuracy
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to evaluate cloud architectures and security posture
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations on cloud security best practices
• Develop and maintain security metrics, dashboards, and performance indicators
• Facilitate technical exchange meetings (TEMs) with cloud service providers and stakeholders
• Analyze system alerts and document mitigation procedures for identified security weaknesses
• Support the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Provide project management support including planning, task tracking, milestone management, and coordination
• Prepare technical reports, status updates, and briefings for leadership

Required Skills & Experience
• Demonstrated experience supporting cloud security operations across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle Cloud
• Strong understanding of security frameworks such as NIST RMF, NIST 800-53, and ICD 503
• Experience conducting security assessments and control evaluations
• Experience with continuous monitoring and vulnerability management processes
• Experience analyzing and remediating security findings from scan tools (e.g., Rapid7, Nessus, Qualys)
• Experience with Assessment & Authorization (A&A) processes and documentation
• Experience managing Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms)
• Experience using compliance and tracking tools such as Xacta, Risk Vision, or RSA Archer
• Demonstrated experience supporting project management activities including planning, tracking, and reporting
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate across technical teams and stakeholders

• Familiarity with cross-domain solutions or architectures
• Experience working with Security Control Assessors (SCAs) and preparing assessment artifacts
