The candidate will work with the Program Quality Team supporting Development Quality for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Program as a Senior Program Quality Engineer. This meaningful role will help develop and lead execution of various Quality projects and support efforts for the THAAD Program. Under minimal direction, the ideal candidate will utilize Quality Engineering methods to evaluate and initiate actions to identify and control sources of variation detrimental to quality, cost, and schedule targets. Emphasis will be placed on validation of key process capability.

Scope of responsibility also includes: lead root cause, corrective and preventive action investigations/ decisions/ validations, actions, integration tasks, along with area improvement strategy and planning. The candidate will assist various management, staff, vendors/ suppliers, customers, and partners with initiatives to optimize processes and methods to ensure compliance to customer contractual requirements and continuous improvement initiatives in the areas of cost, efficiency, Quality Assurance, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities will include but are not be limited to:
• Lead lab floor activities - review manufacturing work instructions, perform hardware inspections, witness test activity, generate non conformance documentation, and conduct regular floor walks
• Develop & cascade program quality requirements flow down to supply chain, mapping to requirements and contractual milestones
• Manage quality data and associated key business metrics
• Support supplier Quality Management System (QMS) audits, assess special process compliance, and issue audit findings with required corrective actions.
• Run business processes to measure and improve quality performance and update/ improve departmental procedures as the need arises
• Responsible and accountable for delivering effective methods and initiating improvements that will drive and improve overall quality performance
• Conduct/ coordinate process and product evaluations and assessments
• Conduct Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations
• Review and approve First Article Inspection (FAI) reports
• Collaborate with leaders from various functions to assure compliance and continuous improvement
• Support Quality contributions of Proposals and Control Account Management efforts
• Provide local Customer interface
• Mentor and guide less senior personnel
• Travel may be required
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with three or more years of professional experience
Desired Skills:
• Experience with Quality processes and procedures
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Experience interacting with internal and external customers
• Experience in developing and reporting quality metrics
• SAP/ERP and SharePoint experience
• Familiarity with Material Review Boards (MRB) and Failure Review Boards (FRB)
• Experience with Aerospace hardware• Green Belt Trained/Certified• Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement
• Data records management experience
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functional and program organizations-Experience working with different program life cycles
• Experience working with manufacturing work instructions and suppliers
• Experience working with AS9100/ ISO 9000 standards
• Counterfeit material prevention
• Experience with design improvements, design for manufacturability, corrective action boards-Quality Requirements Flow-down
• Analytical problem solving & root cause determination
• Risk based decision making & mitigation planning
• Leadership, mentorship & collaborative teamwork
• Currently active Secret clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $98,300 - $170,315. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
