Job Description

Position Summary

Serves as a lead technical expert in designing, implementing, and optimizing systems administration strategies for complex C2ISR Data Transport Infrastructure platforms. Provides support for global transport and dissemination systems, cloud infrastructure, operations and management systems, network infrastructure, and multiple network domains (Commercial, NIPR/CUI, SIPR, JWICS). Requires TS/SCI clearance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as a lead technical expert in designing, implementing, and optimizing systems administration strategies for complex C2ISR Data Transport Infrastructure technological platforms.
  • Support of global infrastructure primary transport and dissemination systems including DDS, B1DDS, B2TR, and B3IGS.
  • Support of cloud infrastructure including GC2, mC2, Joint Cloud, and DAF CLOUDworks.
  • Support of operations and management systems including ServiceNow, CDS, and CAAP.
  • Support of network infrastructure including RGEPs, IGEPs, MGEP, ground terminals, and gateways.
  • Support of multiple network domains (e.g., Commercial, NIPR (CUI), SIPR, JWICS).
  • Leads the development and enforcement of integrated strategies for advanced configuration management, performance monitoring, and resource optimization across global platforms, leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
  • Implements and oversees systematic monitoring protocols for systems, network components, and user access management, integrating SIEM platforms and automating alert responses for compliance, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Manages comprehensive user access management frameworks across diverse environments, including SSO, federation services, certificate management (PKI), and advanced RBAC across Windows, Linux, and specialized C2ISR applications.
  • Directs coordination of ASIs and advanced troubleshooting efforts, leading root cause analysis for major incidents and implementing proactive fixes (e.g., script-based auto-remediation).
  • Provides expert guidance on optimizing configurations and hardening operating systems and applications (e.g., DISA STIGs), improving security posture and operational efficiency through scripting and automation.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance required
  • Senior level experience in systems administration supporting enterprise infrastructure
  • Must complete DoD-approved IA baseline certification for ADP-III/IT-III based on the IAT level and CE/Operating System (OS) certificate within six months of the assignment.
  • DoD 8140 role for WRC: 451; Element: IT; Work Role: System Administrator; Proficiency Level: Intermediate
  • Experience administering Windows and Linux systems in classified and/or mission environments
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V) and enterprise services supporting global transport and dissemination systems
  • Knowledge of identity and access management (Active Directory/LDAP, RBAC), SSO/federation, and certificate management (PKI)
  • Ability to implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and security controls (including STIG compliance) and perform root cause analysis
  • Scripting/automation experience to improve reliability and response (e.g., Python, Go, PowerShell, Bash)

Desired Requirements:

  • Experience with service management and ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Remedy)
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery platforms (Veeam, Commvault)
  • Experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, ArcSight, QRadar) and automated alerting/response
  • Experience with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG) and performance dashboards
  • Experience with configuration management databases (CMDB) and compliance/reporting documentation
  • Familiarity with endpoint security tools (e.g., McAfee, Symantec, CrowdStrike)
