Operations SME/Analyst

Position title : Operations SME/Analyst

Location : San Diego, CA

Clearance required : TOP SECRET with SCI eligibility

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across operational activities to identify hazards, evaluate mitigation options, and inform decision making.
• Ensure full compliance with safety policies, standardized procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Develop and deliver recommendations to enhance operational safety, efficiency, and mission effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with cross functional teams including operations, logistics, safety, and program leadership to address safety concerns and maintain alignment with mission priorities.
• Monitor operational workflows and provide data driven insights to support process improvement.
• Support the development and implementation of safety initiatives, training materials, and corrective action plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting operational missions involving uncrewed systems.
• Experience with data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with data analysis techniques and software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Python, R, Tableau).
• Ability to visualize and present data effectively.
• Understanding of airspace regulations and procedures.
• Familiarity with FAA regulations pertaining to UAS operations.
• FAA Part 107 certification (for UAS operations) or the ability to obtain it with 6 months of Task Order start.
• Certified as an Aviation Safety Officer, or is capable of being certified within 6 months of filling role.
