Job Description

Kearney & Company is seeking a CMDB Support Specialist to join our growing team! This Consultant role supports CMDB Deployment leadership in delivering configuration management database (CMDB) onboarding, integration, operational sustainment, data quality, audit readiness, and external audit response activities for client-specific DoW enterprise financial systems. The Support Specialist helps maintain the CMDB as a reliable source of truth across configuration items (CIs) and contributes to dashboards, automation, and documentation that enable audit readiness, enterprise risk visibility, ITSM processes, and operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support day-to-day CMDB operations, including capability enablement, integration coordination, and sustainment activities under the direction of the CMDB Deployment Lead.
• Assist with onboarding systems into the CMDB and track roadmap activities, waivers/deferrals, and remediation steps.
• Help populate and maintain CMDB data, focusing on CI accuracy, integrity, and automation opportunities.
• Contribute to dashboard and metrics updates that support system health, risk visibility, and reporting.
• Provide user training support, adoption materials, demonstrations, and UAT coordination for CMDB capabilities.
• Assist with operational support activities, including user permissions, release coordination, defect tracking, security monitoring, and routine reporting.
• Help implement enhancements and integrations with automation platforms and related data sources to reduce manual effort and improve CMDB functionality.
• Support audit remediation and compliance reviews; update configuration documentation and SOPs to align with policies and control requirements.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and contribute to recurring status updates and governance reporting.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, IT Management, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience supporting CMDB platforms, IT asset/configuration management, or ITSM environments.
• At least two (2) years federal or DoW experience.
• Working knowledge of ITIL/ITSM practices and CMDB data models.
• Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills; ability to coordinate tasks under direction from senior CMDB staff.
• Active U.S. Secret clearance.
• Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

• CMDB relevant certification (e.g., ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Data Foundations, CISSP, CISA, CISM, Security+, ITIL)
• Experience with ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, and/or Service Graph Connectors.
• Familiarity with risk and audit frameworks (e.g., FISMA, NIST, ITGCs) and audit readiness efforts for enterprise systems.
• Exposure to automation/scripting or data transformation pipelines; experience with dashboarding/analytics tools.

The expected salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $140,000. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).
