PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking an experienced FAA 787 Aircraft Structures Mechanic to support aircraft structural modification and repair operations in Victorville, CA. This role involves hands-on work with heavy aircraft structures, close-tolerance drilling, and depot-level modifications on the 787 platform.

Job Summary
PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking an experienced FAA 787 Aircraft Structures Mechanic to support aircraft structural modification and repair operations in Victorville, CA. This role involves hands-on work with heavy aircraft structures, close-tolerance drilling, and depot-level modifications on the 787 platform.
Position Responsibilities
- Perform close-tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation in critical support structures and fracture-critical areas
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements
- Conduct structural modification and repair using tooling assemblies and fixtures at the depot level
- Troubleshoot, repair, and replace aircraft mechanical components
- Perform sheet metal and structural repairs and determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems
- Use aircraft-specific tools and equipment (test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and shears, etc.)
- Access aircraft data systems and initiate online parts and discrepancy requests
- Maintain all required certifications, licenses, and permits
- Safely climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to approximately 35 pounds
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, including Hazardous Energy and Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Collaborate with General Mechanics, Avionics, and Electronics team members to meet cost and schedule targets
- Lifting, bending, standing for extended periods
- Operating machinery and tools
- Working outdoors approximately 30% of the time
- Minimum 5+ years experience working with non-porous metals (aluminum, titanium, stainless steel)
- Minimum 5+ years reading schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and SOPs
- Minimum 5+ years using aircraft structural hand tools (45°/90° drills, pancake adapters, countersink cages, hole finders, rivet guns, etc.)
- Minimum 5+ years working heavy aircraft structures (doublers, stringers, webs, seat tracks, etc.)
- Ability to work variable shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
- Successful completion of required OJT or formal classroom training is a contingency of this assignment.
- Heavy aircraft maintenance experience
- 787 platform experience
- A&P Certification
- Experience with composite aircraft structures
- Ability to operate forklifts, mobile cranes, and riding-type electric powered elevating equipment
- High school diploma or GED required
- Typically 5+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience may include vocational training, associate degree plus experience, or bachelor's degree
