Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support the SWFTS, Cyber, and SW Infrastructure functional areas while serving as the SWFTS Functional Area Lead. This role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership and cross-functional coordination on the Payload Control System (PCS).

Key Responsibilities
Software Development & Engineering
- Design and develop code for new Capability Items (CIs)
- Investigate and resolve Problem Trouble Reports (PTRs)
- Collaborate with other functional areas to support PTR investigations
- Ensure PCS operates in SELinux enforcing mode
- Mentor and assist junior engineers in their technical development
- Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
SWFTS Functional Area Leadership
- Lead and facilitate the SWFTS functional area Problem Trouble Report Board (PTRB)
- Assign and manage SWFTS-related PTRs across team members
- Review work products to ensure PTRB acceptability and quality standards
- Monitor SWFTS Jira for new PTRs, assess PCS impact, and maintain cross-Jira traceability
- Actively participate in SWFTS Middleware and Messaging Working Groups
Technical Documentation & Interface Management
- Author Functional Design Documents (FDDs) and collaborate with government stakeholders to resolve comments
- Review test procedures for accuracy, completeness, and requirements coverage
- Prepare SWFTS Baseline Change Requests to document inter-subsystem interface changes resulting from new or deprecated PCS functionality
- Serve as primary point of contact between PCS and external subsystems for program interfaces
