ABOUT STI:
Strategic Technology Institute, Inc. (STi) supports national security missions across Engineering MRO Logistics IT & Cybersecurity Program Control. STi is a minority-owned Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) focused on delivering effective, flexible, and innovative solutions that help customers meet mission objectives.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
STi is seeking a Senior Software Engineer / Repository & Integration Engineer to support the Analytical Visualization Toolkit (AVT) effort for HQ NORAD & USNORTHCOM J84. This role is focused on hands-on software sustainment, interface updates, repository compatibility, scripting/automation, and controlled implementation of Government-directed modifications affecting AVT and the Radar Obstruction Evaluation Model/Simulator (ROEMS). The engineer will work within a lean technical team supporting STK-centered workflows, cross-tool integration, trusted data handling, documentation, and regression-minded delivery in a mission environment that supports homeland defense analysis requirements.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
You’ll support software sustainment, integration, and repository-centered engineering activities tied to AVT and ROEMS mission workflows. Responsibilities include:
• Execute hands-on AVT and ROEMS software modification, maintenance, and enhancement tasks under Technical Lead direction.
• Support interface sustainment and updates across STK-centered workflows and connected toolsets such as ROEMS, AFSIM, MATLAB, Microsoft Excel, and imagery/terrain products.
• Maintain and support trusted data retrieval and repository compatibility activities, including schema-aware data handling and integration support for the shared PostgreSQL-backed environment.
• Develop and maintain import/export utilities, scripts, automation aids, and repeatable engineering utilities that improve execution speed and reduce manual rework.
• Support regression-minded implementation, test preparation, release packaging, and technical documentation to keep software changes stable and traceable.
• Contribute to workload estimates, implementation plans, technical options packages, and engineering recommendations for Government-directed updates.
• Help document interface assumptions, technical constraints, repository impacts, and release considerations for stakeholder review and sustainment continuity.
• Coordinate closely with the on-site Technical Lead to keep code changes, data dependencies, documentation, and mission-driven priorities synchronized.
• Support additional software troubleshooting, defect isolation, and change implementation activities in classified/CUI-sensitive mission support environments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
U.S. Citizenship required. Active Secret required for this program.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
• 7+ years of software engineering experience in federal, DoD, aerospace, defense, or other mission-critical technical environments
• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: C#, .NET, Java, Python, SQL, scripting/automation, or service/interface development
• Experience supporting legacy-system sustainment, modernization, or integration in controlled environments
• Experience working with relational databases and schema-aware data handling; PostgreSQL experience strongly desired
• Experience with CI/CD, source control, regression-minded development, and controlled release practices
• Ability to support software interface troubleshooting, data handling utilities, and documentation in a cross-functional engineering setting
• Ability to operate effectively in a lean team supporting evolving Government priorities and short-turn technical requests

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with STK (Systems Tool Kit), simulation-tool integration, or mission-analysis software environments
• Experience with radar, sensor, aerospace, missile defense, mission planning, or other operational analysis toolchains
• Experience supporting PostgreSQL-backed repositories in production or mission-support environments
• Familiarity with VB.Net legacy sustainment, MATLAB, ETL/data transformation workflows, or cross-tool scripting
• Prior support to NORAD, USNORTHCOM, Space Force, Missile Defense, Air Force, or other Colorado Springs-based mission programs
• Active TS/SCI
• Strong technical writing/documentation skills for engineering notes, interface documentation, and customer-facing technical artifacts

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Colorado Springs / Peterson SFB support area
• Support generally aligns to Government core hours; short-notice surge support may occasionally be required
