Electrical Engineer / Principal Electrical Engineer – Test Equipment Engineering
Role Summary
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer or Principal Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and deployment of advanced test equipment solutions for complex electronic systems. This role supports both engineering lab and factory production test environments and will work across the full lifecycle of test product development.
This opportunity may be filled at either level depending on overall experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
-Design, develop, and integrate test equipment and related electrical hardware in a multidiscipline engineering environment
-Develop engineering and production test systems, including test interface adapters, cabling, schematics, technical drawings, and circuit designs
-Perform electrical troubleshooting, analysis, integration, and test in support of new and existing test solutions
-Support test product development from concept through implementation
-Identify technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and support resolution during development and integration
-Support execution of assigned work while maintaining technical, cost, and schedule objectives
Required Qualifications
Electrical Engineer
-Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 5+ years of relevant experience, or advanced STEM degree and 3+ years of relevant experience
-Experience with electrical design, troubleshooting, analysis, and test
-Experience with electrical design and analysis tools such as Altium, DX Designer, Mentor Capital, or Creo Schematic
-Experience with lab and test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, network analyzers, and power meters
-Experience with schematic capture tools and interpreting schematics
Principal Electrical Engineer
-Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 8+ years of relevant experience, or advanced STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience
-Experience with electrical design, troubleshooting, analysis, and test
-Experience with electrical design and analysis tools such as Altium, DX Designer, Mentor Capital, or Creo Schematic
-Experience with lab and test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, network analyzers, and power meters
-Experience with schematic capture tools and interpreting schematics
-Ability to lead more complex development efforts and provide technical direction within a multidiscipline engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
-Master’s degree in STEM
-Experience with analog, digital, and/or RF design
-Experience designing, testing, and integrating digital, mixed-signal, and electrical system interconnects
-Experience with power analysis, RF chain analysis, and error budget analysis
-Experience using integrated development environments and debugging tools for software troubleshooting
-Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
-Ability to work independently and manage priorities to meet deadlines
-Strong technical writing and presentation skills
-Experience leading engineers or supporting cross-functional technical teams
-Project management and bid/proposal experience
-Ability to leverage existing designs to support new units under test and updated configurations
Leveling Overview
Electrical Engineer level will typically contribute as strong individual contributors supporting design, integration, troubleshooting, and test activities.
Principal Electrical Engineer level will typically bring deeper technical ownership, support more complex design and integration efforts, and provide technical leadership across projects and teams.
