Job Description
Piper Companies is seeking an Interdisciplinary Engineer to provide engineering and technical review support for U.S. Coast Guard facility and infrastructure projects across Alaska. This onsite role in Juneau, AK supports capital improvements, facility repairs, and restoration efforts in complex maritime and remote environments.
Responsibilities of the Interdisciplinary Engineer:
• Provide engineering consultation, technical reviews, and design guidance for assigned facility and infrastructure projects, supporting project managers throughout the project lifecycle
• Conduct independent reviews of engineering studies, reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for both design-build and design-bid-build projects
• Support project troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues by collaborating with project managers, engineers, construction teams, and other stakeholders
• Perform site visits, facility condition assessments, and field investigations, including travel to operational and construction sites across Alaska
Qualifications of the Interdisciplinary Engineer:
• 5+ years of experience in civil, mechanical, electrical, or structural engineering required; 10+ years preferred
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, national codes, and facility/infrastructure design standards
• Experience reviewing or supporting design-build and design-bid-build projects
• Exposure to high-seismic, high-wind, or coastal/maritime environments preferred
• PE license and AutoCAD/Civil 3D experience highly desirable
• Must be eligible to obtain/maintain a clearance at the Public Trust level
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field required
Compensation of the Interdisciplinary Engineer:
• Salary Range: $110,000 - $120,000 (based on experience)
