Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for a Command Systems Lab Test Manager 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and support the Sentinel Program.

What You'll Get To Do:

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Lead the Business Unit as the Labs Program Manager for Sentinel Restructure.
  • Owning the Business Unit Labs Management to include program integration within the Business Unit, Suppliers, Customers and other Stakeholders as necessary.
  • Detect, triage and mitigate early stage incidents that could become schedule, cost, or technical blockers.
  • Manage the Labs capacity planning and backlog for the Business Unit.
  • Maintain the Labs initiative backlog in the Special Projects portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain Lab process controls for the Business Unit.
  • Report risk reduction metrics, cost impact and schedule variance in senior leadership briefings.
  • Ensure Lab schedules and plans are horizontally and vertically integrated and have what they need for success.
  • Coordinate and communicate technical execution and risks/mitigation to cross-discipline teams, government customers, and program leadership.
  • Development and adherence to master plans and schedules.
  • Conducting thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation, and realization.
  • Provide expertise as necessary for future business opportunities.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • 8 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree, 6 with Masters or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
  • US Citizenship with Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years and Active Sentinel special access clearance (PAR).
  • At least 1 year experience as a certified Control Account Manager (CAM) proficient in Earned Value Management.
  • 3+ years of experience formally leading engineering teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal.
  • Experience in managing large scale-Labs and system integration labs for Command and Control systems.


These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Proven leader, problem solver, strong work ethic, excellent communications and interpersonal skills for close work with teammates, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Ability to brief senior Program, Division, and Customer leadership.
  • Experience working across multiple functional organizations (Engineering, Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, Logistics, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Northrop Grumman execution, processes, procedures, tools and metrics.
  • Experience with ICBM programs.
  • Experience with complex system development on large programs.
  • Experience in system sell off and delivery to the customer.
  • Active TS clearance.
  • 2 years of experience as a control account manager (CAM) managing Discrete, LOE, and Material work packages.
  • Knowledge of configuration management best practices.
  • Experience test automation.

Primary Level Salary Range: $151,500.00 - $227,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
