The Multi-Domain Operations, a division within Northrop Grumman's Space Systems Sector is known for pushing the boundaries of innovation, redefining engineering capabilities, and driving advances in various sciences through cutting-edge technology. In this role, the ideal candidate will have software leadership and design expertise with 5+ years of experience. The candidate will have SW coding skills in Java, Python, and other modern programming languages. The position will coordinate with and manage a SW backlog across multiple programs and will have both the desire and skill to communicate with leadership to ensure product governance practices are followed.

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a software centric Product Line Development Lead (Level 5) to perform as a lead in supporting the Mission Exploitation Business Unit (BU). This program includes one existing product line, which will be the main focus of the position, but other products are being developed and will also be part of the responsibility of the individual. This position would be based in Aurora, CO.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Maintaining and expanding on existing development pipeline. Great communications skills that include being able to explain a highly technical concept to stakeholders without a technical background. Developing new pipelines for the Space System Sector. Maintaining those new pipelines. As well as identifying and implementing key CI/CD pipeline processes.

Basic Requirements:
  • (Level 5): Bachelor's degree in Science with 12+ years of relevant experience; Master's degree in Science with 10+ years of relevant experience; 4 additional years of relative experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required at time of application.
  • Demonstrated success leading SW development teams
  • Experience with containerization with a focus on Kubernetes.
  • Proficient in Java, Python, and other modern coding skills.
  • Experienced in communications across multiple cross-functional teams


Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with Kubernetes and/or Helm.
  • Experience with databases such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB, or MySQL.
  • Experience with Linux.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
  • Mission Processing Knowledge.


Primary Level Salary Range: $177,000.00 - $265,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
