Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a experienced Maintenance Technician 4. This position is located in Roy, UT.

What You'll Get To Do:

Performs repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment. Typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding. Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. Uses hand and power tools. Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment. Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Work in a commercial GSA environment, opening and disassembling locks-including padlocks, safe locks, door locks, and push bars-and repairing or replacing components as needed.
  • Receive and evaluate work orders and service requests, investigate issues, and complete appropriate repairs.
  • Conduct in-progress and final inspections to ensure procedures are followed, quality standards are met, and completed work complies with applicable plans, procedures, and governing codes.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and daily inspections per established workflow.
  • Diagnose problems, determine corrective actions, and complete repairs and preparations for common facilities and buildings.
  • Handle on-call and emergency maintenance as required.
  • Maintain and repair interior walls, painting, all types of floor coverings, raised floors, structural members, and other building components.
  • Operate, maintain, repair, and install equipment, components, and systems that support facility infrastructure, performing work to maintain or upgrade facilities, structures, equipment, and utilities.
  • Confer with and advise management on maintenance projects and priorities.
  • Maintain accurate records of serviced buildings and common areas.


This position's standard work schedule is a 5/40.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED with 6 years or more of experience maintaining and installing doors/hardware and locksets in a commercial facility maintenance setting with knowledge of common industry standards, practices, and procedures.
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the use of hand and power tools as well as a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong communication, time management, organizational skills, and problem solving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs to include Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to learn other specific programs and databases specific to the organization.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Kaba Mas X-10 / LKM-X10 / FF-L-2740B Lock certified or ability to obtain certification.
  • Experience in painting, caulking, tile repair, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and general HVAC. With the ability to troubleshoot issues to determine the repair or need for licensed contractor.
  • Experience working with Building Management System (BMS).
  • Proficiency with industrial maintenance software (CMMS), reading blueprints/schematics, and root cause analysis.
  • Licensed Journeyman in trade (Plumber, pipe fitter, millwright, HVAC, electrician, etc.)


Primary Level Salary Range: $62,700.00 - $104,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
