Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-11 if outside the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as: Providing oversight to an organization's transportation or fleet management program which includes vehicle utilization, maintenance oversight, freight shipping, or transportation service coordination; and Analyzing transportation laws, regulations, operational data, or program performance to interpret and disseminate technical guidance to Agency personnel.
Time-in-Grade: For the GS-12, Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in Federal Service.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

- As DISA's assistant Vehicle Fleet Program Manager, the incumbent provides day-to-day guidance, oversight, and customer support to users of the U-Drive-It vehicle fleet
- Provides guidance to DISA workforce agency-wide, in the proper control, operation, preventive maintenance, safety, driver training and utilization of a non-tactical vehicle fleet including Agency owned, government and commercial leases.
- Receives and reviews requests for vehicles, validating optimal vehicle requirements for the Agency. Determines appropriate sources for vehicles.
- Makes recommendations to the OCFO regarding the amount of funds needed to establish and projected needs for outyear FY budget for maintaining the vehicle fleet program.
- Formulates, analyzes and prepares spreadsheets to identify proper mileage usage to establish redistribution of fleet, so that regulatory minimum mileage standards are within standards.

- In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the DoW DAU Contractor Officer Representative (COR) training certificates required for a level B type requirements per the DoW COR guidance.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a government driver's license as well as the capability and willingness to drive government vehicles as directed.
