Qualifications
I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following duties: 1) Monitoring and troubleshooting electronic security systems, Intrusion Detection System, alarm, mass notification and CCTV systems; 2) Receiving and processing incoming fire alarms, 911 calls, emergency and non-emergency requests for police, fire, medical emergencies or incidents, airfield emergencies and environmental and hazardous materials incidents; and 3) Dispatching personnel and apparatus to emergencies, record data, events and logs and initiate instructions to callers for fire, medical and police emergencies.

- You will monitor closed circuit television (CCTV) screens trained on sensitive areas/critical assets for a variety of security reasons.
- You will analyze images displayed of an authorized or unauthorized presence within the range of CCTV camera while monitoring CCTV screens.
- You will monitor and or operate electronic security systems involving numerous alarm panels/monitors, callboxes, maintenance-related items, intrusion detection systems, video motion detection systems and various security alarms.
- You will set or reset alarms that activate and ensure alarms are not malfunctioning.
- You will ensure all communication and alarm systems in proper working order.
- You will prepare and maintain a properly documented alarm control log of all alarm conditions to include setting, activation, deactivation and other pertinent alarm information.
- You will ensure recall rosters on key personnel from the necessary units are accurate.
- You will operate a variety of software application programs.
- You will provide emergency medical dispatching (EMD) assistance to callers using the local authority's emergency medical dispatch system.
- You will dispatch personnel and apparatus to the scene of emergencies, record pertinent data, events, and logs, and initiate pre-arrival instructions to callers for fire, medical, and police emergencies.

- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current the following certifications withing the first year of employment: First Aid, CPF, EMD Protocols and Certification.
