This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is:
1) Opening and closing fuel valves in the proper sequence; 2) Recording valve and pump status on electronic central control board; 3) Recording gauge readings obtained at regular intervals during fuel transfer, receipt and issue operations; 4) Observing pressure gauges, measuring temperatures, and determining net quantities received or issued; 5) Converting fuel readings to net quantities using conversion tables; 6) Calculating line of safe fill of pumping operations; and 7) Operating a mobile crane at or near capacity of the mobile crane. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You will control operation of an entire multi-fuel storage and distribution system connected by a network of internal pipelines
- You will independently initiate, control and terminate fuel transfers throughout the tank farm system
- You will observe pressure gauges, measures temperatures, and determines net quantities received or issued.
- You will prepare related logs of arrival and departure times of trucks, barges, and other important operational areas to identify possible demurrage charges.
- You will operate pick-up trucks, vans, stake trucks, 5,000-gallon refueler trucks, tractor or trailer trucks, forklifts, and farm tractors with attachments.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position may require proper licensing (CDL A, B OR C if required) as well as driver's license and government operator permit as determined by employing command with HAZMAT certification to transport hazardous material.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Forklift Operator License (FLO) and Crane Operator License.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
