Job Description
MTSI is seeking an experienced Network Administrator to support existing and future networks for a customer in Dayton OH. You will be responsible for assisting in the administration and maintenance of existing networks as well as design and implementation networks at various levels of classification. You will install, configure and maintain firewalls, routers and switches, including patching, backup, logging, and scanning of these systems. Additionally, you will support application configuration for SIEM solutions, troubleshooting, security technical implementation guidance (STIG) reviews, access control, and integration between systems. Individuals best suited for this role must be able to work autonomously and possess the ability to find and solve complex problems as well as assist others with solving IT problems they are facing. They should also enjoy problem solving and be able to cope with sudden changes in taskings. Ideally this candidate would possess a wide range of experience with the installation, configuration, and administration of on-premise systems.
Responsibilities
Duties to be independently executed include but are not limited to:
• Developing, implementing and maintaining networking technologies.
• Ensuring security and compliance of network devices such as switches, routers and firewalls.
• Perform day to day network support tasks associated with adds, moves, changes and troubleshooting on networks.
• Administer, manage, and maintain all routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Responsible for troubleshooting for all LAN/WAN/Wireless alerts and issues.
• Responsible for configuration of network monitoring and reporting systems.
• Maintain all network layer 1-3 documentation, IP/VLAN/subnet planning documents as well as OV-1, Dataflow, etc.
• Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
• Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with ISSO/ISSM needs.
• Application of appropriate STIG, SRG and industry best practice controls to maintain secure network baselines.
• Work with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience as a Network Administrator or Engineer.
• Experience working with advanced routing protocols such as BGP and EIGRP
• Expertise in network design, routing, virtual networks, subnets, general TCP/IP at all layers in IPv4.
• Strong grasp of DoD RMF controls as applied to networks to include appropriate NIST, CNNSI and JSIG documents.
• Understanding of Radius and switch end-point AAA.
• Experience supporting multiple classification of networks.
• Ability to capture technical approaches, designs, block diagrams, and implementations in written and graphical form.
• Strong ability to design, implement, and manage complex network infrastructures.
• Experience with CommScope, Forcepoint, Dell and Cisco networking technologies.
• Experience with troubleshooting and resolving network issues.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work efficiently with small teams.
• Must have a DoDM 8140 (Formally 8570) certifications meeting intermediate or better requirements in Network Operations Support (i.e., Cloud+ or GICSP or SSCP or Security+ or GSEC)
• Security+ or similar certification.
Desired Qualifications:
• A Top Secret security clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility
• Ten (10) years' relevant experience as a network engineer/administrator.
• Experience in an Agile/DevSecOps environment.
• Knowledge of military platforms, systems, and operations.
• Experience working on-site in a government client environment.
Security Clearance Level Required: Must have at least a Secret clearance to start, with the ability to obtain a TS with SCI and SAP eligibility.
