In this role, the Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures in direct support of the mission. This position offers hands-on opportunities to architect enterprise-scale network solutions spanning LAN/WAN environments, advanced SDN technologies, and multi-data center configurations. Candidates can choose to work in either Warrenton, VA or Tysons Corner, VA.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement complex network architectures based on customer requirements and industry best practices, including LAN, WAN, and multi-data center configurations.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network equipment including Cisco ACI, Cisco DCNM, OTV, and VMware NSX to support enterprise operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to connectivity, performance, and security, leveraging deep expertise in routing, switching, and network protocols.
  • Develop and maintain configuration plans for Cisco ACI design, planning, implementation, and testing across multi-data center environments.
  • Analyze network traffic using a variety of tools to assess security-related events and support rapid identification and isolation of incidents and outages.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with IT disciplines, including Storage, Platform, and Application teams, to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure problems.
  • Create architectural design solutions and present them to client stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Drive project-based development of new network capabilities through the full lifecycle, from concept and requirements gathering to implementation and support.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain boundary security solutions with exposure to enterprise network architecture and NextGen Firewall technologies.
  • Develop unique solutions that meet customer requirements and align with industry best practices, including network programmability and automation.
  • Maintain systems documentation and support compliance and audit activities, keeping customers informed of incident progress, changes, and coordinated outages.
  • Provide technical mentorship to other engineers and participate in 24x7 on-call rotation to resolve issues outside normal business hours.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, training, and experience.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience architecting and designing IP networks and associated technologies in enterprise environments.
  • In-depth understanding of networking including routing, switching, network monitoring, and management.
  • Expert-level knowledge of SDN engagements built around Cisco ACI, including design, planning, implementation, and testing in multi-data center configurations.
  • Experience designing, configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting network technologies and protocols including VXLAN/EVPN.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills specific to network connectivity and security, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining boundary security solutions and enterprise network architectures.
  • Professional familiarity with the customer's enterprise networks and Cisco ACI technology.
  • US citizenship with an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance

Desired Experience:
  • Experience with Network Access Control, segmentation, and security compliance standards.
  • Experience with site-to-site VPNs and/or remote access VPN solutions.
  • Network programmability skills for automating network tasks using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Python, and REST APIs.
  • Experience with Data Center and co-location solutions as they relate to SDN architecture and design.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and administering Cisco ACI, Cisco DCNM, OTV, and VMware NSX.
  • Familiarity with Software Defined Networking (SDN) disaggregation technologies, methodologies, and open-source solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing network reference architectures from mission requirements gathering through technology rollout, including capacity management and technical documentation.
