Job Description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Shop Foreman to join our vehicle sustainment team in Lingenfeld, Germany. The selected candidate will provide maintenance support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.

*Important Note*: Selected candidates without an ACTIVE German/E.U. Work Visa will be required to work the first 60 days in a Temporary role while obtaining their Visa. Once an E.U. Work Visa is approved, then you will be offered a Full-Time German Contract. If accepted, then you will be subjected to paying German taxes, obtaining German Healthcare, and working within the guidelines of the German labor system.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Preventive maintenance on assigned vehicles (oil changes, greasing, and inspection of hoses, belts, fluids, and wiring).
  • Repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors (disassembling and overhauling engines, transmissions, clutches, rear ends, and other assemblies).
  • Replaces worn or broken parts, aligns wheels, adjusts brakes, tightens bearings, tunes engines, and performs minor body work.
  • Prepares work schedules to ensure efficient operations and maintains knowledge of processes and equipment; ensuring that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as ensuring paperwork is completed and signed correctly.
  • Troubleshoots issues that arise and notifies maintenance department of equipment problems.
  • Provides formal, over the shoulder, and on the spot training to contractor and unit personnel.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must obtain or already have an active Germany/E.U. Work VISA to be considered.
  • Four (4) years of qualified experience (industrial manufacturing, commercial maintenance or military operations or maintenance) and a BA/BS Degree. 6 years' experience accepted in lieu of a required BA/BS.
    • Qualified mechanical experience includes one or more of the following: light or heavy-duty trucks, tractors, tactical vehicles, aviation ground support systems, generators, power plants, aircraft or any diesel or gasoline powered equipment or vehicle.
  • Mechanical and electronic troubleshooting skills to diagnose, align, and repair failed and damaged systems.
  • Experience in simultaneous maintenance, modification and repair projects on a variety of maintenance actions, tasks or repairs.
  • Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening; must possess a Valid Driver's License for the location in which the work will be performed, a High School Diploma or GED, and a Passport valid for at least one year beyond the start date.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Willingness to travel to various US or OCONUS locations.
  • Experience on HMMWV, FMTV, HEMTT, PLS, Trailers, and Power Generation Equipment.


Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to starting this position.


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and kneel.
  • Must be able to push, pull, and reach.
  • Must be able to work in high noise areas.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and small parts.
  • Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard.
