Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Director, Programs to join the Strategy and Mission Solutions (SMS) team within the Navigation, Intelligence, and Connectivity (NIC) Division in San Diego, CA.
This position is to serve as the InSight Portfolio Director and will be responsible for leading development of the InSight Product Line ( https://www.northropgrumman.com/what-we-do/mission-solutions/ng-insight ), including leading the engineering and manufacturing development team, developing product line strategy, managing product line investments, leading product demonstrations, and interacting directly with the Division Leadership Team and Sector leadership on InSight captures. The InSight Portfolio Director will be a direct report to the NIC SMS Sr. Director.
We are looking for a proven leader with a successful record of both direct leadership and organizational leadership while leading product line development, including manufacturing affordability, with a strong technical background, the ability to cultivate relationships with customer and industry partners for teaming, and product innovation. The director will work closely across the Division Business Units (BU), including BU VPs, manage the daily function of the InSight PLM team, and have an external facing role in both coordinating and leading InSight customer engagements, proposals, white papers, and business development. The Director will be responsible for supporting the Long Range Strategic Plan (LRSP) and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) Discretionary Investments.

Primary Level Salary Range: $224,300.00 - $336,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Leading the InSight Portfolio product line team executing the InSight vision.
- Manage the InSight Portfolio investment strategy and prioritization.
- Develop InSight business cases meeting customer requirements.
- Lead the development of InSight strategy, customer engagement, and capture efforts.
- Coordinate and prioritize annual InSight portfolio demonstration schedule, and successfully lead the demonstrations.
- Lead the design for manufacturability effort for the InSight Portfolio.
- Transition the InSight product line to a program of record.
- Collaborate with the Division Chief Architect, Division NG Fellows, and Division Executive Leadership Team to ensure InSight development is meeting Division goals.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree AND 10 years of related professional experience OR a Master's degree AND 8 years of related professional experience.
- Demonstrated multi-disciplinary engineering development and people leadership experience in the aerospace & defense industry.
- Demonstrated experience managing a multi-millions dollar Non-Contractual Technical Activity (NCTA) budget.
- Experience managing cost, schedule, and performance of a development and/or production program.
- US Citizenship.
- Must have a minimum of an current/active DoD Secret clearance; OR DoE equivalent (active clearance is required to be considered)
Preferred Qualifications:
- TS/SCI clearance with multiple SAPs across the Air Force and Navy portfolios.
- Technical degree.
- 15+ years of relevant industry experience in P&L, Manufacturing, or Strategy.
- Proven organizational leadership experience leading direct reports.
