Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant & Project Manager to support the Chief Financial Officer, located in Falls Church, VA. The right individual will work directly with our CFO, helping to organize a wide and extensive calendar of responsibilities, projects, vendor management, and events. This role requires demonstrated experience in executive-level assistance and project management, with the ability to manage complex schedules, communications, and high-impact finance initiatives while maintaining the highest level of discretion.

As a valued member of the Corporate Business Management team, you will be the hub of day-to-day operations and a strategic partner who drives both administrative excellence and cross-functional initiatives in a fast-moving environment.

The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, possess the ability to work with other professionals collaboratively, possess agility and the desire to adapt to constantly changing demands and new tools/technologies, demonstrate a capability to take on new and unfamiliar tasks and have an interest in playing a significant role as a member of the leadership team. Advanced proficiency at managing priorities and projects, tracking and coordinating staff activity and actions for senior leadership team members is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Executive Calendar & Logistics - Manage the CFO's calendar, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel (both domestic and international) with precision and discretion.
  • Communication Hub - Draft, proofread, and circulate internal and external communications on behalf of the CFO, ensuring tone, content, and timing align with corporate standards.
  • Strategic Liaison - Serve as a point of contact between the CFO and senior executive, business partners partners, and senior leaders to ensure alignment and follow-through on strategic initiatives.
  • Project Management - Lead and support projects (budget cycles, systems implementations, audit preparations, cost-saving initiatives). Create project plans, track milestones, prepare status reports, and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Event & Meeting Coordination - Organize meetings, leadership off-sites, and corporate events, handling agenda preparation, venue logistics, and post-meeting action items.
  • Reporting & Presentation Development - Compile data, help build PowerPoint presentations, pull together written summaries for executive briefings, financial reviews, and stakeholder communications.
  • Process Improvement - Identify and implement efficiencies in administrative and project workflows, adopting new tools/technologies to enhance team productivity.
  • Compliance & Confidentiality - Handle sensitive financial and strategic information with the utmost integrity; maintain compliance with corporate policies.


Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and a minimum of eight (8) years additional education and/or experience in the administrative professional or related field or an associate's degree with six (6) years of experience or a bachelor's degree with four (4) years' experience in project management or administrative support.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of proven experience in project management including creating project plans, tracking milestones, preparing status reports, and coordinating cross-functional teams
  • Experience participating and hosting in-person and remote Video Teleconference meetings (i.e. Zoom, Teams, etc.)
  • Computer skills required include advanced expertise in Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), SharePoint and intranet/internet proficiency.
  • Understand the sensitive nature of working in an executive office and have good judgement, problem solving skills and maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently, foresee needs and be proactive.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment and managing information flow in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ability to independently compile and generate reports/presentations.
  • Ability to solve problems and meet deadlines with a great level of flexibility.
  • Ability to efficiently coordinate Outlook calendar and other routine items.
  • Ability to interface with executive level internal and external contacts with considerable autonomy.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Ability to swiftly adapt to new tools/technologies to drive efficiency and organization across the team.
  • Experience with travel and expense reporting systems (Concur or similar, ITRIP)
  • Prior experience coordinating both on and off-site meetings and/or events.
  • Experience writing, proofreading and correcting documents.
  • Expert level proficiency with oral and written communication skills.
  • Active DoD clearance.


Primary Level Salary Range: $102,400.00 - $170,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
