Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, and Missile Defense Integration Business Unit (BU) has an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Modeling and Simulation Engineer - Level 5 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Huntsville, AL.
Position Overview:
The selected Staff Modeling and Simulation Engineer responsibilities will include the support of the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the System Performance and Analysis team. This role is responsible for providing technical contributions and guidance to modeling and simulation products that directly support the design and development of the GWS capability on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

Primary Level Salary Range: $16,900.00 - $253,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 12 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 10 years of related experience, or 8 years of experience with a PhD in STEM.
- Must be able to support IRADs and capture efforts as required, previous experience supporting or leading IRADs is desired
- Experience in People and Technical Leadership roles.
- Exceptional technical presentation skills.
- Experience estimating planning and scheduling trade studies.
- Proficiency is using MATLAB and Python for analytics.
- Experience rapidly learning and absorbing new concepts.
- Experience in developing, prototyping and evaluating complex algorithms
- Extensive background in science and engineering
- Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Top Secret security clearance
- Experience performing analysis on the MDA GMD program.
- Advanced degree in a Science related discipline, Mathematics or Physics
- Unix/Linux Operating System Experience
- Experience with planning / scheduling algorithms
- Experience with sensor modeling, communication modeling, and / or missile modelling
- Battle Management, Fire Control, or Tracking Algorithm experience
