Description:
You will be the Energetics Engineer for the Missiles & Fire Control - Lethality & Survivability team. Our team drives the engineering research, simulation, and analysis that define the lethality, survivability, and protection of missile and launcher systems from concept through production.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Energetics Engineer you will own the high speed impact and hydrocode simulations that predict weapon performance, and you will translate those results into actionable engineering guidance for payload, warhead, and armor subsystems. You'll work side by side with system engineers, test engineers, and external subcontractors to ensure every energetic component meets our rigorous lethality and survivability criteria.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Execute structural hydrocode analyses to predict weapon system performance and lethality.
• Build, mesh, and validate hydrocode models for energetics studies.
• Assess vulnerabilities of targets, missile airframes, and launcher vehicles.
• Define survivability criteria, failure mode effects, and protection requirements.
• Apply simulation data to support testing against real and synthetic threats.
• Conduct technical reviews of analysis results, test data, and engineering deliverables.
• Contribute to system level trade studies and performance based decision making.
• Develop interface control drawings, performance specifications, and statements of requirement for warhead/armor subcontractors.
• Verify technical requirements, review design packages, create test plans, and support component level testing and hardware fabrication.
• Participate in technical interchange meetings, design reviews, and cross disciplinary coordination.

This position is in Grand Prairie, TX.
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with experience in energetics, ordnance and lethality
• Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding with an understanding of explosives
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of energetic analysis tools
• Master's or PhD Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• Effective task organization and communication skills with Integrated Product Teams
• Working knowledge of production operations procedures and processes. Familiarity with subcontract management/technical support
• Familiarity with root cause and corrective action methods
• Ability to view and edit drawings and interrogate CREO models
