Configuration Manager

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Configuration Manager Tier 3 to support a company focused on delivering secure, resilient, and compliant technology solutions to the federal government's most mission-critical environments. This position is on-site in Washington, DC. The Configuration Manager Tier 3 will lead and govern enterprise configuration management across complex, high-security systems supporting the Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). This role directly supports national security initiatives protecting the United States' nuclear deterrence and nonproliferation missions.

Responsibilities for the Configuration Manager Tier 3 include:

• Lead enterprise Configuration Management (CM) activities across the full system lifecycle, from requirements baseline through system end-of-life.
• Chair Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, manage change control processes, and perform configuration audits across development, test, and production environments.
• Design, implement, and maintain CM tools, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure release integrity and traceability.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive CM documentation, including CM plans, technical baselines, requirements traceability matrices, security documentation, POA&Ms, and user/admin guides.
• Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams to ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity, audit, and COOP requirements.

Required Qualifications for the Configuration Manager Tier 3 include:

• Over 10 years of experience in Configuration Management supporting enterprise-scale systems.
• Experience with CM tools and technologies such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting languages.
• Demonstrated expertise in change and configuration control, technical baselines, audits, COOP planning, release management, and software lifecycle governance.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Active DOE Q Clearance or active Top Secret clearance.

Compensation for the Configuration Manager Tier 3 include:

• Salary Range: $150,000-$160,000 **depending on experience**
